Transport Manager- Foodservice
Package: £28,000-£35,000 + 10% End of year Bonus, Company car and fuel card, mobile, laptop, and Medical cover.
Location: Manchester, Stockport, Bolton, Bury, Altrincham, Warrington.

Fantastic opportunity to join a well established food manufacturer with depots throughout the UK.
We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to Lead the team based in Manchester.

This position would suit an experienced Transport Manager with a food transport background, looking for your next challenge.

The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced transport manager to join our team!
You will be part of the senior work force and be managing the daily operation and performance of a large transport department.
You will be in control of costs, budgets and P&L accounts.
You will run a fleet of multi temperature vehicles and be responsible for organising the insurance on vehicles.
You will work closely with the field sales and telesales teams to ensure operations support sales and be responsible for ensuring excellent standards of Customer service.
You will be responsible for influencing and improving on the operations of the transport department including areas such as maintenance and fuel costs as well as full legal compliance in accordance with relevant legislation regarding transportation, Health and Safety, Food safety, and maintaining all documentation relating to tachographs and driver hours.
This role is about great people skills. You will need the ability to implement and managing team kpi’s as well as recruit, train, coach, lead and inspire your team.

The Person:
* Have a CPC Qualification
*Experienced in managing a team of adept drivers
*Must have significant transport management experience in multi-drop and multi- temperature environment.
*Experience in fast moving food distribution.
*Strong people management and leadership skills and ability to get stuck in when needed and assist the shop floor.
*Computer literate and a good standard of written and verbal communication skills.
*must be flexible in order to suit the needs of the business.
*A basic knowledge of sales and their process
*An ability to prioritise work load and solve problems.
