Job Description

Midas Selection are currently working with a supplier of plastic component to the automotive OEM market, with 650 staff currently employed in the UK they operate across 17 countries & have more than 35 production plants and 4 R&D Centres around the globe. Together we are recruiting for an Account Manager to effectively manage key sales accounts & identify opportunities to drive sales performance & exceed revenue & margin targets; to actively seek & act upon new sales opportunities.

The main responsibilities of the Sales Account Manager are as follows;

(With the limited support of the Sales Manager)

• Take responsibility for the sales activity related to one of the businesses key accounts & other tier 1 accounts internally/externally to ensure efficient running on a day to day basis.
• Develop & implement a short, medium & long term sales plan that achieves or exceeds company targets.
• Formulate 5 year sales forecast that will support the long term business plan.
• Prepare sales plan & agree business objectives with the Account Manager that will support ongoing business growth & profitability.
• Support Engineering department internally/externally on current business when commercial liaison is required with customers.
• Manage customer enquiries internally to ensure compliance with internal systems.
• Prepare, submit & follow up customer quotation packages & obtain feedback on market position.
• Ensure new products are sourced successfully to meet company performance targets.
• Coordinate internal/external support for major sales activity & presentations.
• Prepare & present sales figures, activity & opportunities monthly.
• Attend customers sites to promote & market company products to existing customers, this will include company hospitality outside of work hours.
• Understands the company product range.
• Act & be visible internally externally as customers’ main interface for the sales activity to ensure that we understand customers’ requirement within the purchase environment.
• Support European sales development activity where required.
• Carry out related administration & ad-hoc duties for company related issues, as required.


• Automotive OEM or Tier 1 customer experience
• ONC/HNC level technical training or a degree in automotive.
• Clean driving licence
• Excellent numeracy skills
• Willingness to travel both domestically & overseas.
