Job Description

Principal Chip Design Engineer
Location: Birmingham
Package: Up to £54K depending on experience, pension – company contribution 6%, laptop, mobile, 25 days annual leave, 4x life assurance, childcare vouchers, bonus scheme, free on-site parking

Must have: PhD in a semiconductor related subject or 5 years industrial experience

What you will be doing:
• Design and development of silicon or SiC based power electronic devices
• Managing and contributing to projects that will involve teams of specialists and
non-specialists both within the R&D Centre and manufacturing groups
• Identifying engineering tasks & working independently or as part of a team to
achieve objectives. Providing improvements to existing products and participating
in planning new product introductions
• Creating and maintaining design rules and generation rules when required using
controlled procedures
• Creating, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with key
personnel, ensuring that best practice is shared across the group
• Leading project related activities & teams within the R&D Centre to ensure the
project is delivered on schedule
• Presenting complex information to colleagues in and outside of the team ensuring
that it is appropriate, in order to gain the understanding of both technical and
non-technical staff

What we’re looking for:

• PhD in a semiconductor related subject or 5 years industrial experience
• Strong background and demonstrated experience in the design and development
of power semiconductor devices, especially power MOSFET and IGBT
